He was pickin' up cans so he could buy some beer
down by the Southwest pier.
When he heard a voice from nowhere
say, "pssst... over here!"

Now Surfin' Joe had places to go but the sound
it was too sweet.
And what Joe didn't know was the siren's song had
taken control of his feet.

I saw him walkin' up and down the beach with his
arms stretched out just like a zombie.
That's when I noticed loud and clear
it was the siren singing in my ear!

Well the sun was goin' down on the bay
side town but where was Surfin' Joe?
Somebody said they saw him once but
nobody really knows....
